Royston Cave

Believed to date from the 13th Century, it is a man-made cavern in the shape of a beehive, with a small aperture at the top for ventilation and an extensive range of wall carvings. There are indications it may have been used by the Knights Templar with links to James 1 who had a hunting lodge at Royston.
